Betty Sue Pilgrim

Betty Sue Pilgrim, age 80, Tuscumbia, passed away July 25 at Glenwood Healthcare in Florence.

 

Mrs. Pilgrim loved being a nurse.   After retirement, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and working in her flowers.

 

The visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. July 27 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. July 28 at Spry Memorial Chapel, and will be open from 12 – 2 p.m. for visitation prior to the service.  Officiating will be Pastor Chuck Lansdell.  Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert Lowell Pilgrim; father Oscar Franks; mother, Julie James Franks; brothers, Ray Franks, Earl Franks; and sister, Judy Franks.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Thomas L. “Tommy” Pilgrim  and wife, Constance “Connie” of Russellville; siblings, Roy Franks of Muscle Shoals, J.O. Franks of Cherokee, Kenny Franks of Muscle Shoals, Margrett Hubbard of Cherokee, Frances McGarritty of Athens, Jewel Dean of Iuka, MS, Carolyn Guion of Benton, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces & great-nephews.

 

The pallbearers will be Ken Dean, Collin Maynor, David Maynor, Kenny Franks, Trey Franks, Jessie Hawn and Tommy (Jr.) McGarrity.  The honorary pallbearers will be Roy Franks and J.O. Franks.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and aids at Glenwood Healthcare for the love and care of our family.
