Watermelon Festival booth to benefit Russellville library

Plenty of vendors sell their wares during the two-day Watermelon Festival, but one booth will directly benefit the Russellville Public Library.

Usborne Books & More will be among the vendors enticing festival-goers Aug. 19-20, and a portion of the proceeds from the company’s book fair will be donated to the Russellville Public Library.

Library director Ashley Cummins said any funds raised will be used to expand the library’s book collection.

Usborne Books & More, a Tulsa, Okla.-based company, is a division of the Educational Development Corporation, which has been in existence more than 20 years. The company distributes books through thousands of independent consultants who sell directly to the consumer via home shows, direct sales, book fairs, websites, schools and libraries, according to Usborne’s website.
