Hoyt George, 75, passed away the morning of Aug. 26 at home. He grew up in Red Bay and graduated from Red Bay High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force as part of SAC. He worked as an operator at the Occidental Chemical Plant in Muscle Shoals.

Graveside services will be Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at Burnout Cemetery, Vina.

He leaves behind a daughter, Laryessa Holmes, her husband John Holmes and a grandson, Ian Holmes.

He was the son of the late Philo and Lizzie George. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Hester George.
