Garvis “Bud” Lee Baker

Garvis “Bud” Lee Baker, age 85, of Hackleburg, passed away Sept. 8 at Hamilton Hospital.

Bud worked for years as a manager in a local grocery store. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, farmer and friend who was always willing to help.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sept. 10 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dale Galloway officiating. The burial will be at Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ledbetter Baker, and parents, Garvin W. and Avo (Mitchell) Baker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Lanny Baker and wife Vedera, Thomas Baker, Tim Baker and wife Barbara, and Danny Baker and wife Melissa. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Shane Baker, Erika Presley, Nathan Baker, Jeremy Farris, Tiffany Trotter and Ghena Farris; great-grandchildren, Abby Trotter, Summer Baker, Sawyer Presley, Ruby Baker, Everett Baker and London Farris; sisters, Bernice Mayfield and Mary M. Clark; brothers, Jay Baker and Hugh Don Baker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
