Ministry plans Beast Feast

By Bart Moss for the FCT

A ministry aimed at hunters and outdoorsmen will be hosting a night of food, fun, fellowship and prizes. The H.U.N.T. ministry team based out of Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell will be hosting a Beast Feast at the church Saturday evening. The doors will open at 5 p.m., and the feast will begin at 5:30 p.m.

H.U.N.T. stands for Harvest, Unlimited, Now, Tomorrow, and the ministry is designed to use the love of the outdoors to reach people for Christ, according to one of the leaders, Jason Hester.

“We hope that guys that are normally not in church or are lost will hopefully visit, have some fun and get some great information and food but also hear the gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Hester, an avid outdoorsman.

Among the wild game being served during the Beast Feast is deer, geese, duck, wild hog, quail, fish and dove. There will also be more than $5,000 in door prizes given away.

After the meal, attendees will hear from guest speaker T.W. Norman. Norman, an active outdoorsman, is from Iowa and a pastor at Calvary Church in Omaha, Neb.

Tickets to the event are free, and it is open to the public. Tickets are available at the door or can be picked up at Shoals Outdoor Sports, Winston County Co-Op, Dependable Sporting Center, Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell or by calling 205-993-4610.

Attendees must be present to win any door prizes.
