Studio X-treme baton twirlers win big
Studio X-Treme of Russellville baton twirlers attended the 2016 Twirltacular competition at the Delta Fair and Music Fest in Memphis, Tenn., Sept. 10.
The Russellville Petites Competition team placed first in both performances. “This was their first time to compete ever, and they won. Never has a first time team had such success,” said Studio X-treme owner Heather Davis.
The Russellville Petites Competition team is Maci Boyd, Elizabeth Davis, Khloe Burns, Chloe Smith, Samantha Weeks,Taitum Bishop, Adelyn Hester, Delilah Landers and Chloe James.
Petite member Elizabeth Davis took a clean sweep in all four of her solo events, winning first place in solo, basic strut, military strut and best appearing, winning the title of Delta Fair Strut Queen and Hall of Fame Soloist.
Petite solo member Adelyn Hester took the title of Miss Delta Fair with her showtwirl to Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me.”
Maci Boyd won second place in Miss Delta Fair and took first place in Best Appearing for Delta Fair. Anna Byars took third place overall in Showtwirl. Kailtyn Reed took 4th place overall in Showtwirl.
“Studio X-treme members came away with more than 40 first place and more than 15 second to third places wins,” Davis said. “These girls have worked hard and will be continuing competition season in March as they take on the Alabama State contest.
Davis encouraged the community to watch locally for these girls “as they perform at parades and locals events – you’re sure to be amazed at such talent.”
Studio X-treme is owned and operated by Russellville native Davis, a former RHS majorette captain and Mississippi State University majorette. Studio X-treme is located on St. Claire Street, across from Audrey’s Gifts and Décor, and offers classes for ages 24 months and up in twirl, cheer, tumble.
