Debbie Joyce Collins Mosley

Debbie Joyce Collins Mosley of Belgreen completed her journey on this earth Sept. 15. She was 59 years old. Debbie is survived by her son, Jon Allen Mosley of Florence; daughter, Ashley Nicole Mosley of Florence; mother, Lois Collins of Sulligent; and siblings, David Nolen of Sulligent, Brenda Hollis of Beaverton and Mike Collins of Hamilton.

Debbie was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Vernon. She was an advocate for women’s health and worked as a mammographer for years before becoming a clinical applications specialist for HOLOGIC. She faced her battle with cancer just like everything else in life: with hope, bravery and an unmatched wit.

Debbie enjoyed many things: riding her lawnmower (Ol’ Bessie), relaxing with a beer in her “redneck resort,” her four grand-dogs and cooking for her “cubs.” Among her favorite things in life were spending time laughing with loved ones. Her family is thankful she was able to make a final journey home to her “Peaceful Palace” in Belgreen before she left this earth. She was an extraordinary woman and will be greatly missed by the many friends and coworkers who had the privilege of enjoying her spectacular sense of humor.

Memorial services will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.gofundme.com/debsfinalwish so the family can fulfill Debbie’s final wishes to return her to her favorite place: the beach.
