Daisy Allene Carter Holliday

Daisy Allene Carter Holliday, age 85, Russellville, passed away Oct. 7 at Burns Nursing & Rehabilitation Home.

Daisy loved gardening and enjoyed her quiet times. She took great pride in being independent and taking care of herself. She had the gift of compassion, meeting the needs of her family.

The visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Oct. 9 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Brother Clint Busler and Brother Bo Lloyd. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Holliday; parents, Emmett Womble Carter and Mary Modean Steel Carter; sisters, Mary Ella Carter James, Lily Beatrice Carter Young; and brother, William Edgar Carter, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her nephews, Edd Carter Jr., and wife Rhonda, Karl Gaston Carter and wife LeighAnne, William and Debra James and Johnny Young; nieces, Dean Leonard and Aleene James; great-nephews, Andrew Harris Carter and William Landon Carter; sister-in-law, Wilma Ruth Carter; and dear friend, Donnie Vandiver.

The pallbearers will be Edd Carter, Jr., Drew Carter, Landon Carter, Donnie Vandiver, Danny Price and Sam Warf.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, Burns Nursing Home and the many friends who have loved and taken care of their family.
