Vonscelle T. Fretwell

Vonscelle T. Fretwell, age 81, Russellville, passed away Oct. 29 at her residence.

Vonscelle was an avid Alabama fan, a great cook, but most of all, a wonderful mother. She loved her family and friends dearly, and they loved her.

The visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. James McCullar. Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy O. Fretwell; son, Randy W. Fretwell; parents, Clinton Thompson and Adle Mayfield; brothers, Kermit Thompson and Mack Thompson; and sister, Janet McKinnon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Billy R. Fretwell and wife Wanda, Linda Blackburn and husband Gary, Ron Fretwell and wife Vee, Kathy Kimbrough and husband John, Douglas Fretwell and wife Denise and Annette Fretwell. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kevin Blackburn, Kristi Dempsey and husband Terry, Beth Fretwell, Robbie Fretwell, April Gandy, Ashley Gandy, Maggie Riddle and husband Shane, Billy Ryan Fretwell, Jessica Seay and husband Brandon, Dylan Fretwell, Jonah Fretwell and Abby Fretwell; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Aubrey and Xandra Riddle, Ethan, Jase and Noah Fretwell and Braxton, Katie, Gracie and Emma Dempsey; Elana Blackburn, Madison Seay, Blake and Matthew Williams, Simeon Broome, Levi Bryant, Malachi Minor, Uriah Thompson; great-great-grandchild, Gavin Craig; siblings, Ray Thompson and wife Sharron, Christine Trapp and husband Rayon, Betty Smith, Alton Thompson, Sandra Marshall, Mary Edwards and husband Robert, Vickie Lambert and husband Jerry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Robbie Fretwell, Matthew Williams, Brent Elliott, Byron Fretwell and Terry Dempsey.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of North Alabama and a very special thank you to our special nurse, Kassie Brown, for all your love and care of our family.
