Robert Harold Taylor

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Harold Taylor, 72, of Alexander City, will be Nov. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Nov. 8 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Flint Hill United Methodist Church.

Mr. Taylor passed away Nov. 4 at Grandview Medical Center. He was born on March 10, 1944 in Belgreen to Robert Taylor and Josephine Taylor. He was an active member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Taylor loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed Auburn football, fishing and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Syble P. Johnston, of Alexander City; daughter, Amy Trimble and husband Clay, of Alabaster; grandchild, Meredith Trimble; step-son, Mike Johnston; step-grandchildren, Lacey Shaffer Howell and John, of Jacksons Gap, Blake Shaffer III and wife McKenzie, of Opelika, and Alexander Lee Johnston; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Taylor Trimble; step-son, William Lee Johnston; step-daughter, Linda Shaffer; and brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence and Hugh Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Flint Hill United Methodist Church, 2858 Flint Hill Road, Alexander City, AL 35010.
