Season ends for RB Tigers with playoff loss to Panthers

The Red Bay Tigers fell behind the Cleveland Panthers early and were never able to recover in the first round of the football playoffs.

The Panthers jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Tigers were able to get on the scoreboard. Red Bay scored their first touchdown with :42 seconds remaining in the first half on a 9-yard pass from Kolby Bragwell to Jesus Kelly. The Panthers answered with a field goal with :05 seconds left in the half to make the score 20-7 at halftime.

Cleveland stormed out of the locker room in the second half to put the game away. The Panthers scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to make the score 41-7.

Red Bay added a late score on a 1-yard run by Tate Ozbirn to make the final score 41-14.

Ozbirn finished the game with 118 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. He finished the season with 1,064 yard and 12 touchdowns in essentially seven games due to injuries. He closed out his career with over 3,000 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns.

Senior linebacker Andrew Ray finished the season with 117 tackles and 342 for his career. Andrew Richardson finished the season with 111 tackles and 261 for his career.

Red Bay seniors finished their career with a 36-9 record in four years.
