American Pickers to visit Alabama

Now in its 16th season, totaling more than 200 episodes, American Pickers is a reality television show that has inspired, intrigued and entertained millions of viewers. This winter, the show will be filming new episodes right here in Alabama, and they are looking for collections to “pick.”

According to information provided by casting associate Lindsey Chase, American Pickers Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and their team are excited to return to Alabama with plans to film

throughout the region this winter. The documentary series “explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on History. The hit show follows Mike and Frank, two of the most skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques.”

“While Mike and Frank specialize in all things transportation – specifically antique American motorcycles, bicycles and gas and oil pieces – this is just scratching the surface of what they’re interested in,” Chase added. “They are truly passionate about finding rare and unique items that they’ve never seen before – things that tell a story about a time, a place and the people who once used them.”

The Pickers are on the hunt for leads on people in Alabama who have sizable, unique collections that they could “pick” through and learn those stories. The goal, Chase said, is “to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. The pair hopes to give historically-significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.”

Anyone who has a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through should send their name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to or call 855-old-rust.

“There is a good chance that people with viable leads will get a reply asking for more information,” Chase said.
