Leon Ergle

Leon Ergle, age 69, of Phil Campbell, passed away Nov. 28 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Visitation will be Nov. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home Russellville. Funeral services will be Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Bro. John McCullar officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his wife Myrl M. Ergle, his parents Edgar and Rachel Ergle and grandson Brian Osborn.
Leon is survived by his fiancé Barbara Daniels; stepdaughters Tammy Baker and Jewell Sherwood and husband Charles; stepson Gerald Osborn and wife Nellie; sisters Voncile Ergle, Doris Lindsey and Brenda Greenhill and husband Donald; brother Phillip Ergle and wife Melinda; grandchildren Wendy Thompson, Shannon Herring, Jereld Osborn, Stephanie Osborn, Derek Baker and Emily Baker; and a host of great grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Leon has over 35 years of service and dedication to the community with the Blue Springs Fire Department, where he was a longtime member and chief.
