FCSO arrests one after car chase, assault
In events that led to an arrest in early December, Sheriff Shannon Oliver said his office had received numerous calls about a suspect who was driving up to houses in the Russellville area. “He was basically saying stuff that didn’t make sense,” Oliver said. “He was saying he was there to talk to the girl he was going to marry” – along with other strange statements.
The FCSO located suspect Billy Snow, 33, of Russellville on Highway 87. When they spotted his car, they attempted to pull him over, but he refused to stop, and deputies were preparing to resort to spike strips – when, Oliver said, Snow ran out of gas.
“When he did stop, he got out of the vehicle and was very belligerent and resisted arrested,” Oliver said. Snow assaulted a deputy, but the deputy was released from the hospital with no major injuries.
Snow was charged with possession of marijuana second degree, assault second degree and attempting to elude arrest.
