Mary Jane Matthews

Mary Jane Matthews, 74, Russellville, passed away Dec. 30 at her home.

Mrs. Matthews lived most of her life in Franklin County having moved here from Shelbyville, Ill. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Phil Campbell, where she was Sunday school teacher and helped with the nursery. She was retired from Dynamic Security Company with 28 years of service.

Visitation will be Jan. 2 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Carolyn Baker officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Survivors include children, Stella Ann Matthews and husband Neal McMahan, Mary Carol Matthews Murphy and Rebecca Freilinger; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Cecil and wife Marsha Tripp Jr., William Tripp, Florence and husband Jack Murphy and Helen and husband William Brakefield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Carl Matthews; son, Rickie Matthews; brothers, Max, Roy, Paul and Bob Tripp; and sister, Linda Parks.
