RHS to host one-day baseball camp

Young baseballers can get a little expert advice with a one-day Winter Baseball Camp, hosted by the Golden Tigers on the RHS campus.

The camp is geared for first through sixth grade and will be held Jan. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the baseball stadium at gym at Russellville High School.

Instructors will include RHS coaches Chris Heaps, Jay Stanley, Eli Fuller, Corey Flanagan, Nathan Vincent, Andy Lambert, Sandy Tverberg and Cody Sellers, along with RHS players. Young athletes will working on pitching, hitting, infield play, throwing fundamentals, fly balls and outfield play, baserunning and sliding, speed and agility.

Campers should plan to bring glove, hat, outdoor cleats, indoor tennis shoes, bat and helmet to camp with them.

Camp cost is $60, with a $10 sibling discount.

To register, mail or bring to the first day of camp the following information: Name, age, grade, address, phone number, name of parent or guardian, T-shirt size, payment and medical waiver to RHS Baseball/Chris Heaps, 1865 Waterloo Road, Russellville, AL 35653.
