Jack Landers Sr.
Jack Landers Sr., age 83, of Russellville, passed away Jan. 28 at his residence.
Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of North Highlands Church of Christ. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum after 46 years and was the chairman of Civil Service Board for the city of Russellville for several years.
The visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Keith Barnett officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Freida Cothrum Landers; son, Jack Landers Jr.; parents, Raymond and Ada Landers; and two sisters and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years, Doris Malone Landers; children, Bobby Ray Landers of Cullman and Kaye Landers Barnett and husband Ronnie of Memphis; step-children, Patti Ongman and husband David of Danville Calif., and Ty Hester and wife Pam of Russellville; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Enlow, Phil Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Floyd Fennell, Jackie Taylor, Ronnie Berry and Bobby Hyde.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred Hospice, especially Kana, Jamie and Fran for the love and care shown to Jack in his sickness.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like people to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Jack’s memory.
