For fresh fruit- and veggie-lovers, the best time of the year has arrived.
June 22 will be the grand opening of the Russellville Farmers Market. From 8-11 a.m. there will not only be produce to purchase but there will also be food demonstrations, canner lid testing and free colanders on a first come, first served basis.
Franklin County Extension agents Annette Casteel – educator with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – and Susan Hill with food safety and quality will be doing the on-site food demonstrations and canner lid testing.
The food demonstrations will include grilled vegetables, cabbage and carrots.
