Who’s on first?

Lila Blackburn scoops a ball at first base against the NW Lady Bandits during a game at the ASA A 16U Nationals in Kent, Wash.

Lila, member of the 14U MS Bombers Gold softball team based out of Tupelo, Miss., was recently invited to attend ASA A Class 16U Nationals with the 16U MS Bombers. Lila led the team with an impressive .600 batting average and .667 on-base percentage, helping the Bombers finish 17th out of 58 teams.

Lila primarily played first base for the Bombers, committing only two errors and completing a couple double plays. The MS Bombers completed their summer season with a 31-18 record, playing in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida and Washington.

Lila is a member of the Red Bay High School softball team and daughter of Gary and Ashley Blackburn.
