Russellville Reads: Find back-to-school resources at RPL
The past week seemed to fly by with everyone getting ready to go back to school.
We’ve had several patrons stopping by the library for assistance with applying to college. Did you know the library has several computers available for public use, as well as free Wi-Fi? So, whether you need to apply for admission at your favorite university or apply for financial aid to help cover tuition expenses, the library is the place to be.
We also have several resources available to students and parents gearing up for success this school year. The Alabama Virtual Library and Homework Alabama are great online resources available to residents of the state, and we can help you get started.
Need help with something a little more personal? How about automotive repairs? The library is proud to offer Chilton Automotive online for the handy men and women who like the hands-on approach to car maintenance.
We also have ancestry.com library edition available as part of the Alabama Bicentennial 200 celebration. So if you’ve been wanting to follow your family tree back to the roots but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg in doing so, stop by and see us!
Just a reminder, the library now offers eBooks and Audio MP3s for your convenience. If you don’t have a new library card, stop by 110 E. Lawrence St. and pick one up.
We are going to have a book sale fundraiser Aug. 11 and would like to offer a nice selection, so any donations are welcome. We will accept donations through Aug. 10. We are usually very limited on the number of books we can accept because of space issues, so anyone wanting to make a large donation can take advantage of the sale as a way to clean out.
Don’t forget to check us out on our new website, www.russellvillepubliclibrary.com, and on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
