Council approves RPD personnel moves

A few Russellville Police Department officer changes were approved at the Sept. 4 Russellville City Council meeting.

The council voted to accept the letter of resignation from Officer Macy Hughes; voted to declare a vacancy for a patrol officer in RPD; and authorized advertisement to solicit job applications.

Two patrol officers were approved for hire: Joseph Franks and Carlos Montez.

Other business conducted at the meeting included:

  • Acceptance of the 2017 Assistance of Firefighters Grant in the amount of $157,715 for the purchase of Airpaks and authorized payment to JMCM consulting in the amount of $7,510 for administrative services of the grant.
  • A resolution to declare an equipment surplus in the Russellville Police Department.
  • Acceptance of the letter of resignation from Sgt. Rhett Bradford in the Russellville Fire Department.
  • Declaring a vacancy for sergeant in RFD and voted to promote from within the classified service.
  • Considering the approval of the updated Fire Volunteer Roster.
  • Considering the purchase of 2019 International MV607 Truck with Pac-Mac KBF20H-HJ Loader through Sourcewell contract price from Ingram Equipment Inc. in the amount of $139,240,11 and authorizing mayor and city clerk to draw proceeds from the line of credit at CB&S Bank for the entire purchase amount.
  • Accepting the quote for concrete work at RFD NO. 2 from Garrison Concrete for $14,260 and authorizing payment from the Capital Improvement Fund.
  • Accepting the letter of resignation from Gena Habig of the Russellville Library Board.
  • Approving the appointment of Lela Ray to the Russellville Library Board.
  • Approving the request from Tammy West to waive the rental fee for the A.W. Todd Centre Nov. 10 for the community adult prom.
