Jamie Kiel receives endorsements from NRA, BamaCarry

Jamie Kiel, Republican nominee for State House District 18, has received endorsements from two major pro-Second Amendment organizations: the National Rifle Association and BamaCarry/Franklin County.

In its endorsement letter, the NRA called Kiel “a solid pro-gun/pro-hunting candidate who supports the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.”

Gary Blackburn of BamaCarry/Franklin County said, “We believe Jamie Kiel to be an honest man that will work to protect our individual rights that are protected by our U.S. Constitution and our Alabama Constitution, including our most basic right of self defense. He will work for the people and is the man for the job.”

“I am pleased to receive the endorsement of these two exceptional organizations,” Kiel said. “I am a firm supporter of the Second Amendment and will vote accordingly as the representative of District 18.”

A Russellville High School alum, Kiel started his company – Kiel Equipment – while attending the University of North Alabama 22 years ago. This local company now serves customers across Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, selling and leasing heavy-duty equipment.

Kiel and his wife Melissa, a teacher, have three daughters and attend Tharptown Baptist Church.

He faces Democrat Eddie Britton in the Nov. 6 General Election.

In addition to Russellville, State House District 18 includes Red Bay and portions of Florence, Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals, as well as the cities of Cherokee and Waterloo.
