Council accepts bid on property

At the Dec. 17 Russellville City Council meeting, a decision was made regarding the property at 127 North Jackson Ave.

After considering three separate bids for the property, the council voted to accept the highest bid from Greg Hovater for $26,151.

The two other bids were from Morgan Hovater for $21,111 and Chris Wallace for $22,469.

This is the property at which the building front collapsed in October and was soon thereafter deeded to the city.
Other action taken at the meeting included:

 Presenting a resolution to the Cotton Flat Cruisers for their contributions to the community, specifically for their recent $500 donation to the Helping Santa Toy Drive Program.
 Approving a resolution asking everyone to spend $22 in Russellville Dec. 22 to promote the local economy and increase local revenue.
 Approving the agreement with Civil Group Engineering for project TAPOA-TA1(914) Amendment No. 1.
 Approving the agreement with InCare Technologies for backup support in the administration department.
 Going into a brief executive session.
 Approving the motion to carry over the electric board appointment to the next city council meeting. Councilman Gary Cummings and Councilman Arthur Elliot abstained.
