Reeder Howard Barnett Jr.

Reeder Howard Barnett Jr., 81 years old, of Russellville passed away Dec. 27.

Visitation will be Dec. 30 from noon to 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Richard Parker officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

Howard was born April 15, 1937 in Exeter, Calif., to Reeder Howard Barnett Sr., and Letha Hammond Barnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue Pilgrim; and his brother, Harold Barnett.

Howard and his father started Town Hill Truck Stop, which he continued to manage for 50-plus years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Willis Barnett; his children, Teresa Whitmire (Larry) and Greg Barnett (Andrea); his brother, Mickey Barnett; his brother-in-law, Fred Pilgrim; and his grandchildren, Justin Whitmire (Johnette), Joshua Whitmire (Kristen), Chase Barnett and Mia Barnett.

Pallbearers will be Mike Barnett, Doug Barnett, Olive Pilgrim, Bryan Cole and Wally Pickett.

Akins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
