Brenda Bohannon, Mo Said, Minnie Coleman, Donna Lynch and Crystal McCool are hard at work on opening day for Phil Campbell’s new service station.

New gas station opens in Phil Campbell

A new gas station has opened in Phil Campbell, and the owner said he is excited about the new location and opportunities it presents.

Campbell’s Texaco – located on Highway 237 past Phil Campbell High School – held its grand opening Jan. 14 with free corn dogs and fountain drinks and the beginning of a continuous drawing for Yeti tumblers.

“It’s a bigger turnout than we expected,” said owner Mo Said. “We appreciate the community support because we grow by them.”

While offering the usual service station and convenience store amenities, the Texaco also has a hot food station, which could be a big draw for the location.

“We hesitated in the beginning, but we thought it would be good since there’s only one other service station in the area and not a lot of places to eat,” Said explained.

Said’s family has been in the service station business for more than 17 years. They have 10 locations in Mississippi and one other location in Alabama.

“We spent a lot of time here to try and make it our best and serve our customers in a way that they will be satisfied,” he said.

Campbell’s Texaco is open every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. For questions, call 205-993-4486.
