Put a little love in your heart

We just wanted to take a minute to wish a happy Valentine’s Day to all of our Franklin County Times readers.

We know feelings about Feb. 14 can range from sappy to cynical to indifferent, and whether or not you will celebrate romantic love tomorrow is entirely up to you. But whether you’ll be giving or receiving flowers and chocolates or not, we figure this is still a good time to encourage that loving feeling in our community.

If you don’t have a sweetheart to celebrate Valentine’s Day, you can still use the opportunity to reach out and show love to someone – a relative, a friend, a neighbor or maybe someone else you admire or respect. Give a Valentine to a favorite teacher, a community leader, a colleague or a mentor. Everyone can use a little love or encouragement now and again.

We love our readers and subscribers and wish you all a very happy Valentine’s Day.

As Jackie DeShannon sang, “what the world needs now is love, sweet love,” and “the world will be a better place for you and me – you just wait and see.”
