Phil Campbell Bobcats close season with lopsided wins

The Phil Campbell Bobcats couldn’t have asked for a better warmup for the postseason than the two lopsided wins they got over the Hatton Hornets Monday. Phil Campbell outscored Hatton 36-3 in two games, 18-2 and 18-1.

In game one, Phil Campbell scored five runs in the second inning, five in the third and eight in the fourth.

The bottom of the lineup came through for the Bobcats, with Ty Leindecker getting three RBIs and scoring two runs. Cole Motes had two hits and three RBIs and scored three runs.

Austen Baker had three RBIs, and Trey Leindecker knocked in two runs.

Mason Swinney scored three runs, while Brett Saint and Luke Barnwell scored two runs each.

Rilan Garrison, Motes, Swinney and Baker all doubled in the game.

Nate Owens started the game on the mound for the Bobcats, striking out seven batters and allowing one hit and no runs. Baker closed the game for Phil Campbell.

In game two, the Bobcats continued to tear the cover off the ball, hitting eight doubles. Garrison and Swinney had two doubles each, while both Leindeckers, Baker and Eli Smith all doubled.

Garrison had two hits, three RBIs and three runs. Owens had two hits, three RBIs and a run. Swinney had two RBIs and scored two runs.

Brett Saint started the game for the Bobcats on the mound, striking out four and allowing one run on two hits.
