Belgreen gets two easy area wins

The Belgreen Bulldogs softball team outscored two areas opponents last week 32-1, beating Phillips 11-1 and Vina 21-0.

In the Phillips game, Belgreen scored two runs in the first inning, six in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth before the Bears got their only run of the game.

Sydney Borden and Emma Dempsey combined to strike out five Bears and allow three hits and no earned runs.

Bailey Wood had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Katie Dempsey had a double and scored two runs. Borden had a triple and scored two runs. Camie Terrell had two hits and two RBIs and scored a run. Kaycee Wilson and Autumn Bragwell both scored two runs each.

The Vina game was even more lopsided, with Belgreen scoring 12 runs in the first inning, seven runs in the second and two in the third.

Belgreen outhit Vina 20 hits to zero.

Katie Dempsey and Camie Terrell both had a huge day at the plate. Dempsey tripled, doubled twice, had five RBIs and scored three runs. Terrell tripled, had two doubles and two RBIs and scored two runs.

Emma Dempsey tripled and had three RBIs. Bailey Wood had three hits, including a double and two RBIs, and scored two runs. Noelle Willingham scored four runs.

Belgreen’s record is 16-10.
