Homefolks U.S.A.

Hi folks,

As I write this week’s story, the one thing that is on the mind of most folks is Easter.

This year Easter came a little late, but I am sure everyone enjoyed their day. It’s a great day for family get-togethers, and the little ones always enjoy the egg hunts.

So that holiday is behind us, and the next one for families to gather will be in July. I know everyone is looking forward to July 4. Watch for the fireworks, and a lot of places will be celebrating with great entertainment from well-known musical stars.

I have been told Marty Raybon and the group Shenandoah will be performing at Sloss Lake in Russellville. Expect a big crowd for this great event.

Katie, my little dog, really enjoyed her birthday April 10. So many wished her a happy birthday, and she received her favorite food that day: chicken from Bojangles. We all love our pets; they bring so much joy and pleasure to our families. My good friend Gene Prince lost his dog this past week. Maggie was old, but she certainly brought a lot of pleasure to Gene. She will be missed, but the good memories Gene has of Maggie will always live on.

I talked with Gene this past week, and we shared stories about our animals. I am sure we will have more stories that will come to mind in the days ahead. Our animals hold a special place in our hearts, and we all look forward to spending time every day with them.

April 20 was a special day for Elbert and Mary Nell Berryman. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and a great reception was held at Waco Baptist Church. A huge crowd of folks was there to join in the fun, and I think everyone had a great time. The food was fantastic, and the fellowship was unbelievable.

I hope everyone will enjoy this spring and summer and the wonder that God has created. We see the trees, flowers and grass come to life. My day has been spent planting flowers, trimming the old shrubs and getting ready to enjoy this beautiful time of the year.

Thanks again for the kind words about our stories in Homefolks U.S.A. every week. My friend Charles Strickland tells me the first thing he reads each week is our stories. Words like this make me want to work harder to best serve our readers.

Till next time,

Your friend,

Bobby
