Lora Corene Higginbotham

Mrs. Lora Corene Higginbotham, 86, of Cullman passed away May 11 in the Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Higginbotham was born May 2, 1933, in Russellville to Luther and Gladys Bishop. Lora was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School and worked for many years as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Higginbotham is survived by her children, Cheryl Ann Smith Rasbury (Jeff) of Cullman and Mason Smith (Martha) of Phil Campbell; grandchildren, Clint Smith (Heather), Matt Smith, Natalie Henson (Clay) and Lauren Rasbury; great-grandchildren, Samantha Franklin (Jabbar), Allie, Zeth, Teresa and Lora Smith, Sydney (Eli) Snider, Braedon and Katie Smith and Preston and Vince Henson; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Franklin and Kenden Snider; sister, Doris Sinyard of Trussville; and her special friend, Doug Birdyshaw of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Bishop and Gladys West Bishop, and by her husbands, J. V. “Bud” Smith, Fred Robinson and Jim Higginbotham.

Funeral service for Mrs. Higginbotham will be held May 26 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in the Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. Billy Quinn will be the officiating minister.

The visitation will be held May 26 from noon until 2 p.m. (service time) at Pinkard Funeral Home.

Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield and Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville are serving the Higginbotham family.
