As weather changes, schools are preparing by letting out early and encouraging everyone to have a plan in place in case of inclement weather.

Russellville City Schools and Franklin County Schools dismissed early at 1 p.m. today and cancelled all after school activities, including after school programs and basketball games.

Northwest- Shoals Community College will be closing the Muscle Shoals and Phil Campbell campus at 3:30 p.m. today.

Bad weather is expected to arrive in Franklin County around 4:30 p.m. with rain beginning before 4 p.m.

Several tornadoes have already been reported in several parts of Louisiana as the storm comes off the Gulf of Mexico. The biggest risks of the storm are damaging winds, large hail and possible tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.
