The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers hosted the RHS Spring Frenzy March 13-14, and ninth-grader Chalea Clemmons went 10-for-10 with the bat over two days in an incredible performance.

In four varsity games, she had 12 RBIs, eight runs scored, three home runs, three doubles, a triple and four walks.

Play began in the event Friday, and Russellville pummeled East Lawrence 21-0. The Lady Golden Tigers outhit the Lady Eagles by a 19-1 total.

Krista Sikes pitched the five-inning game and shut down the ELHS bats.

Tori Tiffin and Jenna Whitfield each had 3-for-3 performances at the plate for Russellville, and both had doubles. Chalea Clemmons and Kailee Simpson each hit home runs.

Meanwhile, Madison Murray led the team with four RBIs, and Alivia Clemmons scored four runs. Other RHS players with one or more hits included Summer Butler, AJ Taylor, Autumn Logan, Makala O’Neal and Maddy Green.

Game two for Russellville Friday was a 13-0 win over Tharptown.

Simpson pitched a four-inning no-hitter to get the win over the Lady Wildcats. She threw 66 pitches and struck out seven while walking one batter.

Chalea Clemmons continued her hot hitting with a 3-for-3 game including a double, triple and a walk. She also scored three times and drove in four runs. Logan added a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, while O’Neal, Whitfield and Green also had hits.

Saturday’s first game was all Russellville, as the Lady Golden Tigers defeated Belgreen 9-1 in a three-inning game as sophomore Tori Tiffin pitched a no-hitter. Tiffin threw 56 pitches, striking out five and walking two Lady Bulldogs.

Chalea Clemmons was once again the offensive star of the game, as she went 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs. Tiffin also added a double, a walk and four RBIs.

Murray pitched in with two hits and an RBI, while Makala O’Neal also hit safely.

Austin High School finished the Spring Frenzy undefeated over two days by handing Russellville (7-11) a 7-3 loss in the final game Saturday.

Chalea Clemmons went 2-for-2 with a home run and a walk, while her sister Alivia Clemmons was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Whitfield had the other RHS hit, and she drove home two runs.

While Chalea Clemmons sizzled with the bat, the Austin offense found some success against her while she was in the pitching circle. The Lady Black Bears scored six runs, with three of them being earned, in the six-inning game. She allowed five hits and struck out six but walked seven while throwing 126 pitches.

Earlier in the week, RHS fell to Hatton by a 7-6 score on a late-inning comeback by the Lady Hornets. Autumn Logan had two of Russellville’s six hits in the game, and both were doubles. AJ Taylor led RHS with two RBIs.
