Red Bay, Sheffield battle to tie

The Red Bay Tigers and Sheffield Bulldogs battled to a scoreless tie after six innings of softball Saturday.

Both teams scrapped out four hits each.

Chloe Knoblock pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out six batters.

The Lady Tigers, however, couldn’t put any runs on the board, with one hit each from Annaliese Rogers, Lila Blackburn, Emma McCollister and Georgia Inmon.

In an earlier game during the week, Red Bay beat Shoals Christian 11-3.

Trailing 3-0 going into the fourth inning, Red Bay scored 11 unanswered runs to get the win.

The Lady Tigers got three home runs – one each by Blackburn, Audrey Ehler and Emma McCollister.

Rogers had three hits, two RBIs and two runs from the leadoff spot.

Victoria Strickland had three RBIs and scored two runs from further down in the batting order.
