Homefolks U.S.A.

Hi folks,

May 2020 has been different than any May that I can remember.

May is the month we honor our mothers, but this year, not much was said. There has been so much negative news. The news media have done an excellent job in putting and keeping the scare in everyone.

I like what George Washington, our first president, said about his mother: “My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw.”

The famous boxer Joe Lewis said wonderful things about his mother. He said, “I hope they are still making women like my momma. She always told me to do the right thing, have pride in yourself, and that a good name is better than money.”

I want to mention a lady in Russellville who has been a great mother, grandmother and true friend to so many people. She is a very respected citizen and has a true feeling for everyone. For many years she has served as a Foster Grandparent to so many young people, and everyone loves and respects her role in this life.

Last week she received the news that her son had passed away, and she has also had other members of her family pass. This is very bad news to accept, yet she accepted it and continues to grow in the grace and love of her Father in Heaven.

I speak of my great friend, Mrs. Annie B. West. What a lady.

Our condolences go out to her and all her family.

Til next time,

Your friend,

Bobby
