Special event promotes voter registration

Kadesha Little coordinated a voter registration event in downtown Russellville Saturday, joined by Tammy West, NAACP’s Tory Bailey, Kamesha Tiggs, Renee Knott and other friends.

“I was inspired by the actions of celebrities, athletes and organizations who were stressing the importance of voting,” Little said. “I just wanted to provide an opportunity for registration. We wanted people to know your vote is your voice and that every vote counts.”

Little said voters should remember they “have the power to decide on the quality of life for yourself and future generations. The economy, healthcare, infrastructure, social justice, education, etc., are affected by our vote.”

The event included educational information from the NAACP as well as free hotdogs, sodas, T-shirts and other goodies.

Today is the last day to register to vote in Alabama.
