Anyone who plans on attending a high school volleyball or football play–off games might want to check with their local school or pay attention to the new restrictions put in place by the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

According to the AHSAA, the Fall Sports Playoff adjustments became necessary because of health and safety regulations that restrict the number in attendance at the venues. Among the changes that will be in place:

• GOFAN Fall Championship Ticketing will manage the ticket limitations at each venue, and ticket purchases for all play–off events except cross country will be purchased digitally on GOFAN. The app can be downloaded on any smartphone.
• Attendance for volleyball games will be strictly limited. Parents will have the first option to purchase tickets. Any remaining tickets, which are expected to be few, will be open to the general public.
• Attendance for the football playoffs, which get underway Nov. 6, will be restricted to 33 percent based on current Alabama Department of Public Health recommendations.
• The AHSAA will continue to study the stadium capacity data submitted by school superintendents and evaluate it in the coming weeks.
• The Super 7 Championships at the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium have set a limit of 7,200 per session.

Fans of schools participating in the playoffs need to pay close attention to these guidelines.

In football, Russellville will host a first–round playoff game. Red Bay has clinched a play–off spot but will play Colbert County Friday night for the right to host a first–round game.

Phil Campbell plays Danville Friday night for a spot in the playoffs. If the Bobcats win, they will be on the road in the first round.
