Gracie Montgomery leads Tharptown to two wins

Gracie Montgomery had two big scoring nights to help lead the Tharptown Wildcats to wins over Athens Bible and Hackleburg.

Montgomery had 24 points in an easy 60-38 win over Hackleburg Monday night.

Tharptown led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, but Montgomery scored eight of her points in the second quarter to help the Wildcat girls expand their lead to 35-22 at halftime. Tharptown put the game away in the third quarter, taking a 49-31 lead.

Autumn Montgomery followed her older sister with 13 points, followed by Kaitlyn Simmons with 12 points.

Kyndall Morgan added six points, Macy Petree three points and Savannah Romans two points.

Tharptown 50, Athens Bible 22

Gracie Montgomery hit four three-pointers on her way to scoring 16 points in the team’s 50-22 win over Athens Bible.

Tharptown led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter, but Athens Bible held strong in the second quarter, with the Wildcats leading 24-16 at halftime.

Tharptown extended the lead to 36-22 by the end of the third quarter.

Jaiden Gaston followed Montgomery with 12 points. Autumn Montgomery added seven points, Sarah Mansell six points, Romans four points, Petree three points and Morgan two points.
