Belgreen teams get solid wins over Vina

Emma Dempsey scored 32 points to help secure the Belgreen Bulldogs’ (11-9; 6-0) the top spot in their area, beating Vina 59-45.

Belgreen led Vina 17-10 at the end of the first quarter and 35-27 at halftime. The Bulldogs continued to pull away from the Red Devils in the second half, leading 43-32 at the end of the third quarter.

Dacota Green followed Dempsey with 14 points. Noelle Willingham added nine points, and Kaley Chandler had four points.

In the varsity boys game, Belgreen (16-2; 6-0) won easily, beating Vina 59-14.

Will Bonner was the only Bulldog in double figures with 14 points, but 10 other players scored in the game: Collin Bonner nine points, Will Donahoe six points, Jordan Wright five points; Isac Willingham, Canaan Stough and Hadden Taylor, four points each; Adrian Reaves, Austin Jones and Brodie Vandiver, three points each; and Alex Betts, two points.
