PC sweeps EL Eagles for 16-1 record

The Phil Campbell Bobcats swept the East Lawrence Eagles in an area matchup this past week 10-0 and 8-0.

In game one, Ridge Raper threw his third career no-hitter. Raper was an error shy of a perfect game, going five innings, striking out nine and giving up no walks.

Phil Campbell scored two runs in the first inning, two in the second, five in the third and one in the fifth.

East Lawrence had some shaky defense, giving up five errors in the field.

Luke Barnwell led the Bobcats at the plate with three hits, including a two-run home run in the fifth inning, two RBIs and scored two runs. Austen Baker had two hits, including a double, two RBIs and scored a run.

Levi Crittenden had a double, two RBIs and scored a run. John Miller Lawson had two RBIs.

In game two, Mason Swinney struck out 14 batters in a three-hit shutout.

The Bobcats pounded out 11 hits. They scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Baker led the Bobcats at the plate with two hits, including a solo homer in the fifth inning and two RBIs, and he scored two runs.

Swinney and Lawson had a double each. Barnwell and Swinney had two hits each.

Phil Campbell improves to 16-1 on the season.
