NWTF holds hunting heritage fundraiser banquet at A.W. Todd Centre
The local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Franklin County Longbeards, held its annual fundraiser banquet at the A.W. Todd Centre Aug. 12.
The event was organized by Brandon James and Tim Burks, coordinators of the local chapter.
“Our primary focus is conservation of the wild turkey and preservation of our hunting heritage,” explained James. “Conserving turkey habitat also benefits other animals, including quail, deer and doves.”
The evening included a meal, a live auction and raffles. Possibilities up for grabs included several hunts and an all-day fishing trip for two people with a stay at Willow Oak Lodge, donated by Timmy Horton Outdoors.
Camron Burks was recognized for being the NWTF winner of a $500 scholarship from the state chapter.
