Red Bay Lady Tigers beat Belgreen

A second half defensive effort helped spark the Red Bay Lady Tigers to a 44-32 win over the Belgreen Lady Bulldogs.

Red Bay raced out to a 16-5 first quarter lead, sparked by Kaylie Lindley’s six points. Belgreen came rushing back in the second quarter, outscoring Red Bay 14-5 to cut the Tigers’ lead to 21-19 at halftime.

Red Bay outscored Belgreen 12-6 in the third quarter, with Sarah Eaton scoring five of those points.

In the final period, Red Bay outpaced Belgreen 11-7, with Lindley leading the way again, scoring five points.

Eaton led Red Bay with 17 points. Lindley added 13 points. Madeline Ledbetter and Shelby Nichols scored six points each. Emma McCollister finished with two points.

Noelle Willingham led Belgreen with 11 points, scoring a basket in each quarter and making three freethrows in the fourth quarter. Isabella Tate scored 10 points, with seven coming in the first half. Dacota Green scored five points, all coming from the freethrow line. Bryn Scott added four points, all in the second quarter. Makenna Fisher finished with two points.

Red Bay lost to Mars Hill 47-33. The Panthers led 32-19 at halftime.

Lindley led with 19 points, scoring seven in the first quarter and five in the second. McCollister added six points, and Sarah Eaton tallied four. Ledbetter and Nichols scored two points each.
