The Tharptown Lady Wildcats picked up two wins at the Lynn Invitational over the weekend, beating Brilliant 5-1 and Berry 8-5. The Wildcats fell to Carbon Hill, Addison and Hackleburg.

Kyndall Morgan’s lead–off triple in the second inning sparked the Wildcats in their final game of the tournament. Morgan came in to score, giving Tharptown a 1-0 lead. An infield single by Pamela Saint scored Harleigh Borden to give Tharptown a 2-0 lead.

Tharptown picked up three more runs in the top of the third to give the Wildcats a commanding lead. Taylor Cameron scored on a sacrifice bunt by Borden to make the score 3-0.

Saint got her second RBI of the night on another infield single, scoring Leslie Staggs. Autumn Parsons scored later in the inning, stealing home to make the score 5-0.

Cameron got the win for Tharptown, striking out nine, allowing one hit.

Tharptown 8, Berry 5

Tharptown overcame an early deficit to come back and beat Berry 8-5.

Trailing 3-1, the Wildcats rallied in the fifth for four runs to take a 5-3 lead.

Ashton Tharp got things started with an RBI triple scoring Pamela Saint. Tharp later scored, stealing home to tie the game.

The Wildcats took the lead on another RBI triple, this one by Morgan to score Cameron. Morgan scored on an infield fly to give the Wildcats a 5-3 lead.

Berry responded in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game 5-5.

Tharptown reclaimed the lead for good early in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Saint scoring Autumn Parsons. The Wildcats got two more insurance runs later in the inning on an RBI single by Alyssa Fischer scoring Saint.

Fischer scored later on a steal home to give Tharptown an 8-5 lead.

Cameron gave up five hits and five runs and struck out eight in the circle for Tharptown.
