Red Bay Tiger girls shut out Phil Campbell

Emma McCollister homered to left field in the top of the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the game as the Tigers shut out the Phil Campbell Bobcats 6-0.

McCollister went two-for-four with two RBIs and scored two runs to lead the way at the plate for Red Bay. Her home run in the first gave the Tigers a quick 1-0 lead.

Audrey Ehler scored on a fielder’s choice in the top of the second inning to give Red Bay a 2-0 lead.

McCollister was at it again in the top of the third inning, singling in Annaliese Rogers to take a 3-0 lead. McCollister later scored on an error to make the score 4-0.

In the top of the fifth, Chole Knoblock scored on an error, and Ehler singled in Julianna Eaton, to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.

Ehler went three-for-four with a run and an RBI.

Knoblock got the win in the circle for Red Bay, pitching six innings and striking out 10.

Red Bay 10, Cherokee 3

A three-run second inning and a five-run third inning gave the Red Bay Tigers an easy 10-3 win over the Cherokee Indians.

Sarah Eaton went two-for-three with three RBIs. Jazmyn Pearson had a hit and two RBIs and scored two runs. McCollister had two RBIs.

Knoblock allowed five hits and two earned runs and struck out three in the circle.

Red Bay 8, Vina 0

Red Bay scored two runs in each of the four innings of play to beat Vina 8-0 Saturday.

Red Bay recorded seven hits. McCollister had a triple and a double, two RBIs and scored twice. Sarah Eaton had a double and an RBI.

Knoblock got the shutout win, striking out eight and allowing two hits.

Red Bay 8, Hackleburg 4

Red Bay took a sizable advantage in the first two innings to easily beat Hackleburg 8-4.

McCollister went two-for-three with two runs and two RBIs. Ehler went three-for-three with two RBIs and scored a run.

Britley Hardin pitched four innings; she gave up nine hits and four runs and struck out six.
