Tharptown soccer boys get off to hot start

The Tharptown Wildcats varsity boys soccer team is off to a hot start. The Wildcats are 4-2 overall and 4-0 in area play.

The Wildcats already have area wins over J.B. Pennington twice, East Lawrence and Danville.

In a match against Danville March 3, Tharptown won 3-2. Alex Quintero, Dylan Valdez and Leo Lucas each scored a goal for the Wildcats. Goalie Sabbas Avalos had six saves and allowed two goals.

In a March 11 match against J.B. Pennington, Tharptown won 2-0 with two goals by Edwin Vela on assists from Rogelio Francisco and Dylan Valdez.

Avalos recorded 19 saves and didn’t allow a score from the goalie position.

The Tharptown varsity girls soccer team is 1-4 overall.
