More summer fun will be here before long. Vina’s long-time community tradition, July Fest, will take place July 30 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the grounds of the Vina Fire Department.

Now in its 31st year, the festival will offer entertainment including a car show, live music, food, vendors and free inflatables for children, including a water slide.

The Draw Down is the signature event. A prize of $17,000 will be given away. Tickets are still available. They cost $100, and 325 will be sold.

Vina First Baptist Church, located next to the fire station, will be having its annual bean dinner and barbecue plates for sale. The church will be open to go in and eat, cool off and enjoy fellowship.

“We’re looking forward to having a good day,” said Denise Rogers, secretary and treasurer of Vina Rescue Squad. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Vina Mayor Michael Moomaw expressed his enthusiasm for the event.

“July Fest provides a great opportunity to have fun together in a safe and friendly environment,” he said. “Folks come from surrounding areas, and some return from out of town to visit. We appreciate the Vina Rescue Squad planning the event, as well as Billy Boyd doing an excellent job bringing in bands.

Musical performances will begin at 11 a.m., with each band performing about an hour set.

7 p.m. – Twisted Country

9 p.m. – Fireworks
