Tigers rout Belmont 16-0

The Red Bay Tiger defense shut down rival Belmont Friday night, winning 16-0.

The Tigers’ swarming defense held the Cardinals to 193 total yards on the night and allowed two completions out of 10 attempts by the Belmont passing game.

Belmont went for it on fourth down four times, and the Tigers stuffed them each time.

The Red Bay defense was led by Will West with nine tackles, Brady Bolton with eight tackles and Kyler Watson and Eli Farris with seven tackles each.

The Tiger offense was led again by workhorse Brady Hardin, who carried the ball 27 times for 204 yards and both Red Bay touchdowns.

Hardin scored with 1:40 to go in the first quarter on a five-yard run to give the Tigers an 8-0 lead. He scored again in the closing seconds of the third quarter on a 13-yard run to give Red Bay the 16-0 lead.

Gage Edgmon kept the Belmont defense honest with a solid night, completing eight of 13 passes for 101 yards.

Holdan Inman caught seven passes for 67 yards.

Red Bay will travel to Tharptown Friday night.
