Kerry Gilbert Band show resumes at Roxy Theatre

The Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council gladly announces the monthly KGB and guest show will resume Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Historic Roxy Theatre.

Many of Kerry’s supporters are looking forward to seeing him again on the stage following his severe bout with COVID and pneumonia. He was hospitalized at the North Alabama Medical Center ICU in Florence for weeks and later spent time at home during the months of December and January recovering.

After being shut up, Kerry is ready to return to the Roxy for his monthly shows. He said although he might not be able to sing as he normally would, “I want to at least be there with my band, talk to the crowd and especially thank everyone for prayers.”

Kerry and the KGB have been performing at the Roxy for more than 10 years.

Kerry is a very strong individual who has spent more than 10 years battling cancer. He is dedicated to his fans, family friends, music and God.

His guest for February is Austin Bohannon. Austin “Bo” Bohannon is an up-and-coming country artist based out of Muscle Shoals. He has performed his newest single release “Radio” at the Boiler Room and other local venues.

This will be an outstanding show – and it’s the weekend before Valentine’s Day, so start your Valentine’s celebration earlier by bringing your loved one to the Roxy!

April 22 Jarred Price will return to the Historic Roxy for the third time to present his show “Almost Elton John.” This tribute to Elton John features Price and his band, The Rocketmen.

Price’s mannerisms, vocals, outfits and piano playing make the audience feel as if they’re seeing the real Elton John. He will bring his beautiful red baby grand piano for the show. Ticket sales will begin soon!

“The Roxy’s Salute to Broadway” will be presented May 4-7.

This production is written and directed by Hillary Malone Hall, featuring a range of Broadway hits. Auditions were held in January. The Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council received a $7,300 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts for this production.

More information will be available soon!

Malone is lifestyles columnist for the FCT.
