Homer sparks Red Bay win over Hatton
Reed Hamilton hit a solo home run in the top of seventh inning to rescue Red Bay and send the game into extra innings, where the Tigers beat Hatton 10-9.
Red Bay had built up a 6-1 lead through five and half innings, but the Hornets scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-6 lead. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Hamilton sent the ball over the right field fence to tie the game.
The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning and held off Hatton in the bottom half of the inning to get the win.
Ty Reynolds had two hits, including a double and an RBI, and scored a run. Eli Farris doubled and scored twice. Aiden Pruitt and Jeremiah Thorne both knocked in two runs for the Tigers.
Red Bay fell to Belmont earlier in the week, 12-8. The Tigers gave up five runs in the top of the seventh and also committed five errors.
The Tigers got two doubles from Hamilton, who went two for two at the plate with three RBIs and scored twice.
Harley Strickland also doubled twice, knocked in a run and scored a run.
B.P. Blair went two for three and scored three times. Jeremiah Thorne also doubled for Red Bay.
