Kicks for Kids gets Philanthropic Activity of Year nomination

The Listerhill Foundation and Kicks for Kids have been recognized by Business Alabama Magazine as one of the top five nominees for Philanthropic Activity of the Year.

Listerhill officials said this recognition is a testament to the foundation’s hard work, dedication and commitment to improving the lives of children in the Alabama and Tennessee areas.

The Business Alabama Philanthropic Awards program recognizes companies and organizations that demonstrate outstanding philanthropic activity in Alabama. The program highlights the best in corporate social responsibility and recognizes those who have made significant contributions to their communities.

The organization’s Kicks for Kids program, which was established in 2020, has been instrumental in providing new shoes and socks to every student in local elementary schools, giving them the necessary tools and encouragement to succeed in life. The program has provided more than 3,400 pairs of shoes and 17,360 pairs of socks to children at various elementary schools.

“We are so grateful that Business Alabama Magazine recognized our efforts as the one of the top Business Philanthropic Programs of the Year,” said Angela Scott, Listerhill Credit Union’s director of philanthropy. “Our goal is to celebrate these children and give them the proper tools and encouragement to help them grow into successful adults. We are so incredibly honored to be among this group of well-deserving philanthropies.”

The Listerhill Foundation is helping children put their best feet forward, one pair of shoes at a time. Through partnerships with local schools, sponsors and individuals, the Foundation aims to make a positive impact on the lives of local children and their families.

“Kicks for Kids is proud to be recognized alongside other non-profit organizations for our work in fostering confidence and success in children,” Scott added. “We were excited to be considered for this prestigious award and hope that our recognition will catalyze our ongoing efforts to help serve our communities.”
