FCSO makes drug arrests

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has reported recent drug arrests of Kelly Blackburn, Rodney Lindley and Justin Cornelison.

In answer to multiple complaints of large-scale drug trafficking in Vina and Spruce Pine, investigators met with Lindley, 42, April 4 to discuss his involvement in drug trafficking.

Lindley provided information that Kelly Blackburn, 53, had approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine at her residence in Vina.

A search warrant was executed at Blackburn’s residence, and deputies seized 1 pound, 11 ounces, of suspected methamphetamine.

According to the FCSO, during an interview with Blackburn, she admitted her involvement and said Lindsey was her partner. Blackburn stated that Lindley had brought her the methamphetamine and took about 6 ounces with him.

Lindley is on community corrections; part of the terms and conditions state he must submit to searches of his person and places of his residence. Deputies went to Lindley’s residence and found approximately 6 ounces of suspected methamphetamine.

In between the searches, a traffic stop was made on Justin Cornelison, 34, after he left Blackburn’s residence. Deputies located approximately 4 ounces on Cornelison.

All three were charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking and are in the Franklin County Detention Center. According to the inmate roster at franklinsheriff.org, bond for Blackburn was set at $145K; bond for Lindley was set at $30K; and no bond was set for Cornelison.

Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force Region E assisted in the investigations.
